WHY WAS THE SOCCER FRIENDS USA FUTSAL ACADEMY CREATED?
Soccer Friends USA Futsal Academy has been organized and created for children who are unable to commit to Travel Team Soccer, which is more time consuming and a bigger commitment in terms of family time. It is for any child who is aged 7 years old and has at least 1 year of playing soccer in either our regular SFUSA classes where they have progressed their skills, enthusiasm and enjoyment for the game, or for any child who has played and competed in alternate soccer programs, academies, recreational leagues, or travel soccer clubs.
WILL THE FUTSAL ACADEMY HAVE PROFESSIONAL COACHES/TEACHERS INSTRUCTORS?
Our Futsal Academy will have professional coaches/teachers which will be led by Head Coach and SFUSA Futsal Director Coach Efrain Nino. Every session your child attends will meet the objectives of our curriculum. Each of our coaches will have planned, organized, dynamic, progressive and fun lesson plans ready.
WHAT IS FUTSAL SOCCER?
Futsal is FIFA's official indoor soccer game, which is esentially, a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a small sided game (5v5) played on a smaller field (roughly basketball court sized) with a smaller low bounce ball.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR YOUR CHILD TO PLAY FUTSAL?
The priority in Futsal is to motivate players in an environment that is conducive to learning. The more pleasure kids derive from their participation, the more they wish to play and practice on their own. While their instinct to play is natural, their affection and appreciation for soccer must be cultivated. Futsal is the foundation to such goals because it:
Allows players to frequently touch the one "toy" on the field, namely, the ball.
Presents many opportunities to score goals and score goals often.
Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending).
Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom.
Provides a well organized playing environment with improvised fields.
Reflects the philosophy of player development expressed in state and national coaching schools.
Eliminates complicated rules such as off-sides that may hinder youngsters from "playing".
Reflects the appropriate role of the coach as a Facilitator
Allows the game to be the teacher!
WHAT SKILLS WILL MY CHILD DEVELOP?
Skill that is realistic. Motor ability: balance, agility, and coordination. Perception: insight and awareness. Vision. Problem solving: choices and decisions. Physical fitness. Psychological domain: fun, enjoyment, and competition. Learning by discovery, trial and error, playing!!!
